Anointing of the Sick

Catholics who are sick or dying are comforted and strengthened by the Sacraments of the Anointing of the Sick and the Eucharist.
If you would like more information or wish to arrange an appointment, contact our Parish Office.

ANOINTING OF THE SICK

  • The Anointing of the Sick is not just for those who are at their point of death but is also for healing and restoration to health.
  • It can be administered to a member of the faithful who, after having reached the use of reason, begins to be in danger due to sickness or old age.
  • This sacrament can be repeated whenever the sick person again falls into a serious sickness after convalescence or whenever a more serious crisis develops during the same sickness.
  • It is also advisable to have the Anointing performed before a major surgery where a dangerous illness necessitates it.
  • Please contact our Parish Office for an appointment. Alternatively, you may approach any of our parish priests after the Mass.

COMMUNION FOR THE SICK AND HOMEBOUND

  • For the sick and/or elderly who are hospitalized or homebound, it is most beneficial to have the Holy Eucharist brought to them.
  • As part of the pastoral care of our parishioners, a priest (if available) or an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion will bring Holy Communion to them as a sign of support and concern shown by the parish community for its members who cannot be present at the Eucharistic celebration, especially on Sunday.
  • Holy Communion is brought from the community’s celebration of Eucharist in the church to the person in the hospital or at home.
  • If you have family members who are homebound or hospitalized, please contact our Parish Office to request for Holy Communion to be brought to them.
  • If the Sacrament of Anointing is needed, please also inform our Parish Office or approach any of our parish priests for an appointment.
